Taft Mission Statement: The purpose of our mission statement is to guide the work of every staff member as he/she interacts with students on a daily basis. Our Taft mission statement focuses on every student learning and applying grade level or above instruction and learning. Our goal is for every staff member, student, and parent to see evidence of and feel our school’s mission on a daily basis.
Our Mission: At Taft Elementary School, our mission is to ensure that all students receive, learn, and apply grade level instruction. Teachers will facilitate this learning with best first instruction and targeted interventions to support each student’s progress toward attainment of grade level or above proficiency. Taft students will demonstrate their learning and application of essential skills and knowledge on formative and summative school, district, and state assessments, and teachers will utilize student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and planning.
Taft Vision Statement: Our school’s vision statement is all about the kind of school we hope to become. It defines Taft Elementary as a place where student excellence and learning combine with a positive, caring, and knowledgeable school community. Continued progress toward our school’s vision motivates and inspires every Taft staff member to work tirelessly toward extraordinary excellence for Taft students.
Our Vision: At Taft Elementary School, we aspire to become a Professional Learning Community that: *Recognizes and celebrates the diversity, strengths, and inquisitive spirit of every Taft student. *Creates a safe environment where students develop character traits that support a successful school experience. *Expects student excellence and high levels of learning for every Taft student. *Plans and implements rigorous instruction that results in mastery of the learning objective. *Utilizes student learning outcomes for analysis of instructional effectiveness, lesson preparation, and adjustment. *Formally, informally, and regularly communicates progress toward learning goals with both parents and students. *Learns and builds upon existing pedagogy through grade level, vertical, and school-wide articulation. *Continues to grow professionally through ongoing staff development, training, and/or continuing education.
Parent Involvement: Taft parents are involved in our school through workshops, advisory groups, and by volunteering in our classrooms. With the support of our PTA, field trips are provided for Taft students and food baskets are distributed to needy families during holiday season.
Taft is a school in which every student is expected to demonstrate positive citizenship on a daily basis. We expect and teach students to treat all students and adults with respect, to follow school rules, and to use their developing problem-solving skills on a daily basis.
